Seeking Freelance coder for frequent projects (Portland)
City: Maine
Hey there,
I run a two-person design & web development business and we're overloaded with work.
I am seeking a beginning/intermediate FREELANCE developer for assistance in coding projects who can work quickly. I was thinking a student would be ideal. or someone looking for part time income on a regular basis.
Each project is done by contract. You will take a psd and turn it into a website using CSS and PHP. I will populate the pages with content.
Many of the sites are small & static, some are larger e-commerce projects. I would start you off with something small.
Your work must be clean and well documented. your code MUST validate without errors or warnings. Yes, really. (I maintain very high standards and my clients give referrals because of the quality of my work. I will not compromise this- nor will I clean up your mess.)
You must have Photoshop on your computer to open the files. You will be slicing & exporting these files. My layers are very clear and well documented (just like my code)
Your sites should be made with CSS, a little bit of HTML, and PHP. <----- ( NO TABLES! & pages don't need to end with *.html. This isn't 2002. :-) )
Wordpress theme experience is a plus, as this is the direction i'd like to move in providing my clients with a CMS.
This is a good opportunity for a beginning/intermediate programer who is eager to learn and develop new skills.
Your pay will be project based, so hourly rate truly depends on how quickly you can code. The jobs are very straight forward and will not haunt you, just so long as you do them right the first time around.
Please send samples of LIVE websites and specify your role in their completion. I don't care about the design- I care about the code. :-) But if you can someday help make a pretty website with me, that would also be good. (someday)
You'll be working from YOUR own home.
we'll meet up at a coffee house in Portland for the first project to explain it & make sure we're on the same page.
You must live within an hour of Portland and be very reliable, as I don't really have time to deal with lazy people.
