CONTRACT WEB DESIGNER

SUMMARY

San Diego Magazine is hiring a contract web designer to re-design four existing monthly e-newsletters and come up with a new design for an additional weekly e-newsletter. We are looking for someone who can look at our new branding for San Diego Magazine and come up with designs that embrace that look and “wow” us, while also adhering to best practices and addressing usability issues.

REQUIREMENTS

• UI/HCI design experience
• A strong portfolio of work (including specifically e-newsletters)
• Experience working with developer constraints
• Quick turnaround
• Skill/Experience with pixel-perfect Photoshop design
• An understanding of best practices and standards for Web and Email (e-newsletter) template design
• Experience with vector illustration, Flash animation and/or front end Web development

San Diego Magazine has been in the market for over 60 years. We are a monthly publication providing San Diegans with compelling editorial coverage of politics, current issues, business, health, dining and entertainment. We also produce a semi-annual wedding publication, Exquisite Weddings.
